Lena Odgaard is a Middle East-based journalist for radio, TV and web. Her stories have been published by international online news sites such as Al Jazeera English, Al Jazeera America, and Al-Monitor.com. She regularly reports for a number of outlets across the globe including the independent, American radio station, FSRN, the English channel of France24 and Radio France International, Monocle24 and Huffington Live as well as for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation (DR) and Radio24syv in Danish.

An MA graduate from Aarhus University/Columbia University (SIPA) with a BA in political science from Aalborg University, Lena Odgaard has specialized in multimedia reporting and covering conflict and politically sensitive areas.

Since moving to the Middle East in 2011 she has mainly been based in Palestine and Israel while also covering other areas in the region including Egypt, the UAE and Bahrain.

Lena Odgaard also works as a media trainer, project coordinator and communications consultant in areas of media development and journalistic social media usage.

She reports in English and Danish, speaks and understands German and Scandinavian languages and is a Kathryn Davis Peace Fellow in Arabic.
